A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A MEMBER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE As a customer service representative, you play a critical role in creating the first and lasting impression of our electric cooperative with our members.
You establish and maintain outstanding relations with members and ensure they are always provided with reliable information regarding their accounts.
By accurately maintaining member files, member transfers as well as all other transactions on member accounts you will also receive and process bill payments over the counter and from drop boxes as well as keep track of your daily cash and check totals.
Following proper collection procedures, you ensure that state agency rules and regulations are consistently met.
You research and resolve meter reading discrepancies to make sure they are working accurately, so you can bill members correctly.
After balancing the cash drawer, you close up and prepare daily bank deposits.
In addition, you answer incoming phone calls and route inquiries to the appropriate department of our cooperative.
As required, you participate in safety meetings and training programs as well as annual company meetings.

years of experience in a public contact position such as a cashier, receptionist, or bank teller with exposure to payment responsibilities, collection activities, or customer service Ability to communicate with a variety of people under difficult circumstances Knowledge about Microsoft Word and Excel Knowledge about general office practices and record keeping Experience working in electric utilities is preferred but multiple factors will be taken into consideration.
WORK SCHEDULE FOR A MEMBER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE This full-time administrative position works a typical schedule of 8 AM - 4:
30 PM, Monday through Friday.
